Some statistics from the 2009 contest;
The 2009 IndiaShots.com contest received about 4000 entries
688 entries were accepted and published.

The 2010 contest will begin on 15th August 2009. The 2010 contest categories will remain the same but there will be an increase in prize money. Some of the navigational issues that have plagued this website for some time,  should be sorted out before the next contest begins. Hopefully the 2010 contest attracts a larger number of contestants.

How Do I Vote?
Voting can be done by Rating a photo using the Ratings tool available underneath each photo. First go to the Finalists group, then rate each photo or any photo that you like. At the end of the voting period, the photo with the highest numbers of ratings gets the “Reader’s Best” award.

Voting closes on June 30. On the 1st of July, the winner of the “Reader’s Best” award will be announced.

One category winner from each of the 5 categories will be announced on the 1st of July for a total of 5 category awards. The category winners will be selected from shortlisted candidates from each category and who can now be seen in the “Finalists” group.  The category winners will be selected by contest judges.

In the event of a tie among ratings, judges will decide the winner. The decision will be final.
