Another World

Description: Often called the “Land of the Red Soil”, Birbhum is one of the most unique districts in West Bengal,India. The climate here is dry and extreme,  the  soil is red and hard, the people are simple and colourful. In the photograph, the bullock cart returns home after a days work.

    Very nice shot,, quite thoughtful too, Had been to birbhum when i was 8 yr old with my father who was transferred then. Trust me it is indeed a land of red soil, it hardly rains , the locals were tribals who did not know how to see a watch/clock. The stone quarries used to make the best use of it by making them for for double almost the double shift but paying for only…
