Description: The winged human-headed bulls actually originated within the Assyrian civilization. The winged bull is considered to be a good omen and this symbol of protection can be seen in Mumbai which has a sizable Parsi population. Parsis follow the Zoroastrian religion which was the state religion of the Achaemenid, Parthian and Sassanid empires. With the invasion of ancient Persia by the Arabs, Zoroastrians migrated to India and are referred to as the ‘Parsis’.
